The Economics Certificate displays in-depth knowledge of both microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts. There is a focus on the individual consumer, firm, and specific market; the principle of supply and demand for particular goods and services; and the role of the price mechanism in allocating resources. There is also a focus on the economy as a whole. The macroeconomic problems of inflation and unemployment are addressed. The role of government as manager of prosperity is scrutinized.
